Slinkskins Ltd New Zealand Owned and Operated
Slinkskins Ltd was started in the late 1960’s by Jack Hazlett in response to what he
considered to be a waste product among the farming community. Jack identified this resource during
his 1967 All Black Tour of the United Kingdom and upon return organized his local Drummond Rugby
Club to collect and skin the dead lambs from their own farms.
Slinkskins Ltd then established a collection system throughout NZ so that the casualty lambs and
calves could be collected and processed quickly providing a truly new and unique product.
The Tannery was established in the early 80’s and has developed very specialised systems of tanning
and dyeing these small lambskins.
These skins are now used by top fashion houses throughout the world.
